Improving the mechanical properties of block copolymers

A new article has been published in Macromolecules, entitled “Novel Supramolecular Block Copolymer of Isotactic Polypropylene and Ethylene-co-propylene Connected by Complementary Quadruple Hydrogen Bonding System“. Joris Peeters from SyMO-Chem contributed to the research led by Sumitomo Chemical Co and SupraPolix, describing a block copolymer comprising polypropylene units and ethylene–propylene random copolymers making use of the UPy-NaPy complementary hydrogen-bonding system as a compatibilizing junction. The resulting polymer showed to have improved mechanical properties compared to the non-supramolecular based counterpart. For more information, please click here.
